Monster Party – Brock is 1

IMG_3348a

So it came and went just like that.  All the planning and preparation was over in about 3 hours. Every thing turned out fantastic though. I can’t complain, much. I forgot to serve ice cream with the cupcakes, oops!  Sorry everyone.  That is my only complaint.   And I wish I would have gotten more video. But it really doesn’t matter in the large scheme of things.  My baby is one… (sigh…)  It’s been two weeks now and I still haven’t taken down the decorations.  When people ask me how old he is now, I have to stop and think… 12 months sounds so much younger to me than, he’s a year… so I say he’s 12 months.  But he is a year. Crazy. Bittersweet. I’m so excited for the big things this little guy can do now and excited to see his development and excitement for the world and love of favorite things, people, toys, foods… but I miss my baby, my little tiny 8 pound 2 ounce baby.

But let’s just get over it. (I’m kind of over it… boo hoo… ok, now I’m over it) It happens. They grow up and there is nothing you can do about it.  Just hope that you have made good memories and played every day and have taken lots of pictures to remember it all by.  And I think I’ve done a pretty good job of that.

We love our little monster.  We are so lucky to have him in our home.  He brightens our day.  He is so full of energy and light.  His smile melts my heart.

Here are some highlights from his fun day.

The amazing cake!

My friend Kelcey bought this cake for Brock. Her sister Kim made it. Brock love love loved it.  And I loved it even more.

The cupcakes – Yum!! I made the cupcakes and my sister-in-law helped me frost them. I love how they turned out.

The birthday banner. We can’t believe how much he’s grown. This banner was so fun for me to have to see all of Brock’s stages.  I love this kid!

November 09

Thanksgiving shoot

Twilight movie premier.

We went to the Jazz game with Lance and Marie Parks.

I ran into an old friend on face book, and long story short, she is the piano player for Colin Raye and got us free tickets to his dinner show in Salt Lake.  It was a great show. I love his music.

We also got to go back stage and meet him. He is such a nice guy.

Here is my old friend, Melanie Shore. She is so pretty, and so nice. Thanks Mel.  We had such a nice evening.

My parent's dog Nicki. He loves her, and she lets him do whatever he wants to her. Such a good dog.
